| Mixing to Begin
This week, legendary engineer Dan Korneff is set to begin work mixing Louna's new album. Dan will be using his best equipment and devoting 100% of his time to the project until its completion. He described the process as his "major label treatment" and that he would be "mixing on my 48 channel SSL console and using a bunch of amazing outboard gear where I've done most of the bigger credits on my discography."
That discography is perhaps the main reason why Dan was chosen for this important job. His discography includes epic international bands like Paramore, Breaking Benjamin, My Chemical Romance, Papa Roach, Ill Nino and heavier music such as Underoath, Lamb of God and Drowing Pool. In 2010 he was also the mixing engineer responsible for the amazing "Light Me Up" album by The Pretty Reckless.
In an email to Red Decade Records, Dan described his job clearly and professionally saying that "I will absolutely treat your music with the attention to detail and the respect that it deserves. Not only does your record reflect upon you and the band, but it also reflects upon me and my reputation. With that in mind, I will use everything in my power to create an amazing sonic experience for the listener." After discussing the direction for this part of the process with Louna's producer, the goal will be to make "the tone contemporary/active, but take everything right to the edge."
We're very excited to have Dan on board for this project, and we can't wait to hear what he does with it.
